Craighead County Homestead 4H Club
Welcome to 4H in Craighead County!!! We are just one club of many in Craighead County. I am Kim McKay and the leader of this 4H club. We primarily meet in Brookland. We are an established community club designed to allow participants the opportunity to work on any project that they want too within the realm of 4H. We have attracted a lot of homeschoolers and do meet at earlier times in the day, in the past. However, this year, we are going to try different times depending on the interested kids in our club.
So we just started this page and our new year, so let us know if you are interested. (see below for details)
4H is an extension of the public school in many ways and any activities are to be considered under the same the rules as any other clubs operating within the school district such as FBLA, FFA, Science Club, etc, etc. So far this 4H year, we have kids that are doing ...
Stop Motion Movies as a project
Sewing
Dogs and dog training
Small animals, rabbits as pets
Fitness and health
Dance
Piano
Singing
Science & Technology
Wildlife Conservation
Cooking
Microwave Cooking
Cooking with Rice, Cooking with Dairy
Entomology
Robotics
Consumer Economics
Interior Design
Art
Clowing
The list is so large that we could go on and on. As you can see 4H is more than it used to be. It is growing everyday and it is a way for your child (ren) to take a talent that they enjoy and become the best they can be in the area. There are well over 200 projects available for little to no money. We do NOT supply you with the materials but rather give you the information so you can keep going with what they are doing.
So if you are looking for a club and are interested, please call the Craighead County Extension Office to get the details of our next meeting place and time. We either meet in Brookland or at the Jonesboro Nature Center. We like to keep a variety of activities and focus our meetings on those. Again, call the Extension Office for more details.
