Hi, I'm Emily Shanks. I'm 12 years old and this is my second year homeschooling. I love it! This is the first time I've ever written a blog so it won't be very good. I'm going to tell you about the best day I ever had.

So there I was on my dad's lap in the tree stand, eager to get my first deer. I heard leaves crunching, branches breaking, I thought it was a deer. But turned out to only be a squirrel. I was so DISAPPOINTED!! After a little while dad spotted a deer. As we were getting ready to shoot dad saw another deer. I spotted the 3rd deer. I felt my heart pounding in my chest. Eager to get my first deer, and thinking how happy my mom and dad would be if I got it, I was so excited that I couldn't pull the trigger . So dad shot the deer. When we got down from the tree stand and over to where the deer was we found out that it was not a doe like we had thought but a button buck. When we got back to aunt Phylis and uncle Randy's house dad said, "I was as happy today as I was when I got my first deer. I was so happy because you were with me."
