Greetings !!
4-H is a positive youth development organization that empowers young adults to reach their full potential. It's a vast community of more than 6 million youth and adults working together for positive change. 4-H enables America's youth to emerge as leaders through hands-on learning, research-based 4-H youth programs and adult mentorship, in order to give back to their local communities.
4-H Teen Leaders are ages 13-19.
As the Arkansas 4-H website www.kidsarus.org says: 4-H is for a young person who wants to go places...do interesting things...learn new skills...make new friends....and have fun.
There are projects galore-great for the whole family or even community. Fun doing recreational type things such as arts and crafts, fishing and rock climbing. Activities such as taking part in baitcasting, forestry camp, and photography contest. Awards- receiving everything from ribbons to scholarships.
Winners in local events are selected to go to district and state events working towards big trips to exciting places like Washington, D.C. Other trips you might also be apart of are Kansas City Global Conference, National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Ga, and High Adventure in the Pecos, Wilderness.
If you would like to visit us, contact our county Extension office at 870-933-4565 and ask for Brittany Scott, 4-H Extension Agent.
Thanks for stopping by!!
