The colors are beautiful right now. Fall is a busy time on the farm we have been busy getting ready for winter and praying we have a mild winter. In the fall we work the calves.

We get the cows up. I get made fun of by my dad because I name my cows and most of them know their names, but it makes working them a whole lot easier. A few of them will let you pet them some of them are heifers that I have kept and fed so they are tame and know what the bucket means.  Any time I want to get them up or move them from one pasture to another all I have to do is get a bucket and call my ladies and they come.

This is one of our heifers we are keeping for a cow.  She is all decked out in the latest fashion with a pink ear tag, I believe I'm the only farm in Randolph Co. that has pink ear tags.  She is also sporting a yellow nose ring.  It is a weaning ring, instead of taking the calves away from their moms to wean them we use these rings.  The rings have sharp points on them that stick their moms bag when they try to get milk the mommy cow won't let it suck but it is still with mom and is not bawling and losing weight like they do when you seperate them.

This is one of our new babys that was born last month.  We have been blessed with 4 new babys in the last month.  They are so much fun to watch they are like little kids playing.  I can't stress enough how much the Lord plays a part in this farm.  He has blessed us with the chance to raise the girls on a farm He blesses us with good health, a great family, and a love for Him and each other.
Thanks for joining on my look at farm in the fall.
